Broomhill Birder

Hi All,

had a trip out on the Yorkshire Belle today on the RSPB cruise and the wind and the sea was very rough but did manage a new bird for me and also managed to find a Harbour Porpoise so well chuffed. Also had a run to Spurn Point hoping to pick up the Great Snipe which had been reported and yep we ticked it and it was a beauty.  I will be posting photos shortly the Great Snipe and also of the Snow Bunting which was on the beach trying to head for cover.


Anyways here are the sightings for Broomhill Flash today 15th September out of the logbook! Here are the sightings we had from the Yorkshire Belle RSPB cruise from Bridlington although we had rough sea still managed to see 2 Harbour Porpoise and a Manx Shearwater which is a new bird as well as Guillemot, Gannet, Kittiwake, Fulmar and Puffin.


Grey Heron 2,

Little Egret 2,

Snipe 1.


Mute Swan 2,

Shelduck 1,

Greylag Goose 77,

Little Grebe 7,

Cormorant 2.


House Martin 12,

Swallow 6.


Barn Owl 1 in left hand box (Cleggs Meadow).
