Broomhill Flash.

 

Redshank 2.

 

Great crested grebe 2,

Mallard 13 + 11 duckling,

Tufted Duck 28,

Gadwall 6,

Greylag Goose 7,

Little Grebe 5,

Pochard 1♂,

Mute Swan 1 (other possibly sitting on eggs),

Shoveler Duck 2♂.

 

Common Whitethroat,

Swallow 2.

 

Red-legged Partridge 3

 

Kestrel 1.

 

 

Wombwell Ings mid AM

 

Grey Heron 2,

Redshank 4,

Lapwing 12 + 4 young,

Little Ringed Plover 3,

Dunlin 4,

Avocet 2,

Common Sandpiper 1,

Snipe 2.

 

Mute Swan 1,

Canada Geese 35,

Greylag 26,

Shelduck 5,

Gadwall 34,

Mallard 18,

Tufted Duck 16,

Shoveler 1.

Red Legged Partridge 5.

 

Bolton Ings late AM/early PM and Warbler Way.

 

Warbler Way lived up to its name with singing males including :-

 

Chiffchaff 12,

Willow Warbler 10,

Blackcap 10,

Common Whitethroat 5,

Lesser Whitethroat 1,

Sedge Warbler 1,

Grasshopper Warbler 1.

 

Yellowhammer 2,

Song Thrush 1,

Green Woodpecker 1.

 

A Large Red Damselfly was seen on Warbler Way also.

 

On the open water of Bolton Ings there were:-

 

Oystercatcher 1.

 

Black-necked Grebe 2,

Little Grebe 5,

Great Crested Grebe 2,

Mute Swan 2,

Tufted Duck 34,

Mallard 9,

Pochard 9,

Gadwall 8,
