Hi everyone,

here are today’s list of sightings for the area including the Caspian Gull once again on Broomhill Flash 17th March.

Present were 2 Mute Swan, 57 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag, 2 Shelduck. 1 Egyptian Goose, 170+ Wigeon, 19 Tufted Duck, 12 Teal, 11 Gadwall, 8 Mallard, 7 Shoveler, 1f Goosander(R. Dearne), 3 Grey Heron, 12 Coot, 5 Moorhen, 1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 23 Lapwing, 13 Golden Plover, 2 Redshank, 91 BH Gull, 3 Common Gull, 1 Song Thrush, 5 Skylark and 3 Reed Bunting.

Broomhill Flash late AM

Noted were 4 Mute Swan, 22 Canada Geese, 30+ Wigeon, 11 Tufted Duck, 10 Mallard, 5 Gadwall, 4 Goldeneye, 2 Pochard, 3 Grey Partridge, 1 Red Legged Partridge, 8 Little Grebe, 2 Kestrel, 1 Redshank, 300+ Bh Gull and  3 Common Gull. The gull that ticked a lot of boxes for Caspian Gull when checked against a bird app, and some fellow birders experience, could be an odd looking Herring Gull. It looked to have a black eye but enlarging photos when I got home there seemed to be a white iris on some shots. Be interesting to see what other people who took photos think. So apologies for any inconvenience.
