here are todays sightings for the area.

 

3rd September.

Wombwell Ings

Present were 25 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 17 Gadwall, 9 Teal, 7 Mallard, 3 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 1 Little Grebe, 2 Moorhen, 2 Kestrel, 14 Lapwing, 2 Greenshank, 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Snipe, 13 BH Gull, 6 LBB Gull, 30+ House Martin and 40+ Goldfinch.

Broomhill Flash

Noted were 2a+5y Mute Swan, 35 Canada Geese, 125+ Gadwall, 15 Tufted Duck, 10 Teal, 3 Pochard, 2 Shoveler, 3 Little Egret, 1 Cormorant, 17 Little Grebe, 127 Coot, 7 Moorhen, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 6 Lapwing, 4 Snipe, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 2 LBB Gull and 12 Linnet.

Bolton Ings

On the open water were 4a+10y Mute Swan, 19 Greylag, 5 Canada Geese, 37 Gadwall, 28 Tufted Duck, 10 Mallard, 4 Pochard, 2 Grey Heron, 4 Cormorant, 23 Little Grebe, 5 Great Crested Grebe, 54 Lapwing,  146 Coot and 2 Moorhen. Also present were 5 Buzzard, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Grey Wagtail, 1 Bullfinch and 2 Willow Tit. Two Chiffchaff were singing on Warbler Way.

Ruff 3, Dunlin 2, Golden Plover 1, Kestrel 1, Shoveler 70+, Little Egret 6, Gadwall, Mallard, Teal, Mute Swan 2 adult & 8 Juv.
