here are today’s sightings for the area, care of Alan Whitehouse.

 

15th March Wombwell Ings

Present were 2 Mute Swan, 89 Canada Geese, 9 Greylag, 3 Shelduck, 135 Wigeon, 22 Gadwall, 17 Mallard, 14 Tufted Duck, 13 Teal, 9 Shoveler, 1 drake Pintail, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 8 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 9 Lapwing, 3 Redshank, 49 BH Gull, 20+ Redwing, 2 Mistle Thrush, 1 Song Thrush, 4+ Skylark and 5+ Pied Wagtail.
Bolton Ings

Noted were 3 Mute Swan, 9 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag, 23 Tufted Duck, 12 Gadwall, 5 Pochard, 4 Mallard, 1m+3f Goldeneye, 8 Little Grebe, 4 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 76 Coot, 203 BH Gull, 2 Common Gull, 1 LBB Gull, 1 Green Woodpecker and 2 Willow Tit.

Rspb Oldmoor

Avocet, Med Gull and Bearded Tits still present.

Also 30+ Whooper Swans reported flying North East towards Darfield/Houghton early afternoon.
