Hi everyone,

here are the sightings for today for the local patch.

 

17th June Wombwell Ings

Present were 4 Mute Swan, 2+3y Greylag, 2+1y Canada Geese, 22 Gadwall, 16 Mallard, 11 Tufted Duck, 2 Shoveler, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 4 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret, 24 Coot, 14 Lapwing, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 7 BH Gull, 3 Skylark, 3 Linnet and 1 Pied Wagtail. In Broomhill Park were 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 Green Woodpecker and  singing Blackcap and Chiffchaff.

Singing males 7 Blackcap, 6 Willow Warbler and 5 Chiffchaff.
Bolton Ings

On the open water were 2+7y Mute Swan, 34 Tufted Duck, 15 Gadwall, 5 Pochard,4 Mallard, 2 Shoveler, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 4 Little Grebe, 68+9y Coot, c200 BH Gull, 5 LBB Gull and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Buzzard, 26 Lapwing over, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 Barn Owl ( quartering at 11.35am ), 1 Green Woodpecker and 2 Whitethroat.
