Broomhill Birder

Hi All,

a rather soggy start to the day 26th November, with most of the week looking no better. The River Dearne is up a good 2-3 foot and flowing really fast so with more rain forecast not looking too good.

Checked Broomhill Flash this morning and also Bolton Ings, so here are the numbers.

Broomhill Flash

Grey Heron 1, Green Sandpiper 1.

With

Teal 5, Tufted Duck 14, Shovelor 13, Gadwall 2, Mallard 4, Wigeon 1, Common Gull 1, Cormorant 5, Mute Swan 3.

Also

Kestrel 1, Sparrowhawk 1.

 

Bolton Ings

Golden Plover 8, Green Sandpiper 1, Grey Heron 4.

With

Mute Swan 7 (4 Juvenile), Whooper Swan 1 (Bridge), Tufted Duck 17, Pochard 25, Shelduck 7, Gadwall 60, Wigeon 25, Shovelor 18, Goldeneye 2, Little Grebe 2, Great Crested Grebe 1, Cormorant 12, Lapwing 51.
